Lone SAF survivor of the assault team in the Mamasapano Mindanao narrates to GMA 7 (4:55 mins on the report) how he survived from the encounter, after running out of bullets. In his escape, eight attackers tried to take his sniper rifle. Armed only with a knife and his Pekiti Tirsia Kali training he was able to kill the eight opponents.
In this report Pekiti Tirsia KALI an off shoot of the ancient Filipino Art of Self Defense was proven effective and potent in hand to hand combat.
JCI is proud to say that the Pekiti Tirsia (KALI) instructor of the SAF, PSG and the Scout Rangers, is non other than our training director Mandala Mickey Alcaraz, who is also the KALI instructor of almost 85% of all JCI guards.
